Adverse Effects of Anti-THyroid Drugs

  1. Radioactive Iodide - follicular damage leads to leakage of T4,t3 into blood leads to hyperthyroidism ,so initial Anti-throid peroxidase drugs then Radioactive treatment
  2. PTU - Hepatotoxicity,LUPUS,Rash,Bone marrow suppression leads Recurrent infection,ANCA- VAsculitis
  3. methimazole - Forest Trimester Tetrogen , LUPUS,Aplastic anaemia
  4. Hypothyroidism from all the above
